Cross and Culture: The Book

Two weeks ago I released my new book Cross and Culture: Can Jesus Save the West? I’ve been overwhelmed with the response—over 600 copies have sold in that time, and we’re on to our second print run.

I begin Cross and Culture with a simple premise: something isn’t right in the Western world. The chaotic events of 2020 have only served to highlight deeper issues that have long been lying dormant—whether our looming mental health crisis, growing trends like censorship and superstition, or our desperate search for meaning.

In the face of all of this, I am convinced that we have every reason for hope—if we know where to look.

Cross and Culture contains many stories and insights from my adventures around Australia, the United States, and South East Asia. In it, I include discussions of architecture, contemporary music, modern art, philosophy, history, politics and more.

There are three underlying questions I seek to address in Cross and Culture:

  • How has Jesus shaped Western civilisation?
  • What is the result when a culture abandons Jesus’ teachings?
  • How can we find our way back?

Last week, I was interviewed about the book on Vision Radio by Neil Johnson. You can listen to that interview here. My good friend and colleague Warwick Marsh has also produced a short promotional video for the book.

For the next few weeks, Cross and Culture will remain at the special introductory price of $24.95 (plus shipping). For customers outside of Australia, the paperback can be purchased via Amazon. And the Kindle version is of course available worldwide.
